How to Build a Custom Fantasy Football Draft Board (+ Tips for Using AI Image Creators)

An offline fantasy football draft party is the ideal way to kickoff your 2024 fantasy football season. Whether you're a new startup fantasy football league, or you're entering your 10th season as a league, it's never a bad idea to bring your draft party offline.

Creating a custom fantasy football draft board doesn't have to be complicated or stressful.

In this guide, we will walk you through the process, how to use our tools, and how to make an epic fantasy football draft board that your league will be proud of.

Step 1. Pick your draft board style

We offer two custom draft board styles. One contains a thick black background around the entire board, while the other is a blank canvas. Neither option is "better" than the other, as it depends on the final look that you're after.

Step 2. Pick your draft board background

This is where the fun begins.

You can choose one of our gallery images for your fantasy draft board or you can upload your own custom design.

If you decide to choose one of our gallery images, pick the thumbnail and get a live preview of what the board will look like.

If you decide to upload your own fantasy football draft board background, here are some tips.

If you are choosing your own photo... Choose a high quality photo (typically any photo taken from an iPhone or Android will suffice).

You can choose to shame the loser of your fantasy football league by uploading an embarrassing photo, such as his junior prom date photo or a picture of the loser doing something he would not be proud of.

You can also choose to celebrate the champion by uploading an image that shows the champions true dominance over the league.

If you want to redesign your own photo... You can use online tools such as Canva or Pixlr to made edits to your existing photo.

If you want to use AI to create the background image... With so many AI tools at your disposal, we highly suggest trying these prompts to generate an epic fantasy football draft board background.

You are welcome to adjust the prompts below, but these should give you a good starting place.

  1. Prompt 1 (Chat GPT): "create an epic landscape image of an american football field. The fog is starting to lift from the ground, and a raucous crowd is anxiously awaiting the start of a violent football game. Both teams are lining up for the opening kickoff and there is a feeling of anger in the air."
  2. Prompt 2 (Chat GPT): "create a picture of an american football player who is angry and ready to inflict pain upon his opponent. The crowd in the background is ready for a game and shouting at the top of their lungs."
  3. Prompt 3 (Chat GPT): "create a landscape picture of a calm american football field with bright lights and field goal posts in the background. This is the start of the football season and there is a feeling of excitement in the air. In the distance you can see a massive scoreboard with the sun setting in the background."

There are ENDLESS PROMPTS that you can use to create your own, epic, fantasy football draft board. Have some fun using AI to generate your own unique fantasy football board background.

Step 3. Select the number of rounds and teams

You can choose an 8 team, 10 team, 12 team, or 14 team league, paired with 16 rounds, 18 rounds, 20 rounds or 22 rounds.

If you don't see the number of teams / rounds that you need, simple reach out to us.

Step 4. Choose your custom league name

Most people will use their fantasy football league name, but you are welcome to use anything that you'd like. You can put the name of the league winner from last year or throw more shade on the loser.

You can also pick the font (new for 2024) that you'd like to use. If you would like a specific font, just reach out to us and we'll try to make it happen.

Step 5. Base 1 Only (Pick Gradient Board Name)

This is new for 2024, and will allow you to select a dark or darker gradient background to your custom draft board. Depending on the font size, color, and the background image that you used, a gradient background may help increase the clarity of your league name.

Step 6. Select your label package

For standard leagues, opt for the Next-Level label package. If you draft individual defensive players (less common), make sure to add the IDP labels so you can draft Nick Bosa, and other elite IDPs.
