Truth: OVER 50 MILLION
This number shocked me. In all honesty, it's hard to put that number into context!
It's true, over 92 million people will play daily fantasy football, according to a study completed in 2021. With the amount of advertising, ease of access, and congress passing legalized sports betting over the last three years, I wouldn't be surprised to see this number closer to 200 million.
When DraftKings started in the DFS space, people's jaw dropped when they saw the very first $1 Million payout. It was unthinkable. Unfathomable. How can simply picking a lineup for a fantasy football team end up giving you a cool $1 Million payout?!
In 2010, DraftKings offered at least a $1 Million prize in nearly every single week of the NFL season. This contest has easily become the most popular one they offer.
